Last two days I've been delivering the course that inspired Horns and Haloes. No daft comments made this year or outrageous people to adapt into characters, but...

We're sitting having lunch, yesterday. Very tasty sandwiches. This delightful lady governor bit into one and said, "Oh, I wasn't expecting a sausage." I lost it completely. Couldn't breathe for laughing. Had to confess that I'd written a story - didn't specify title or genre - about this course, and how I'd now have to work "I wasn't expecting a sausage" into a story. At which point I started giggling again.

*laugh* I have utter faith that you'll manage. That's an excellent piece of dialogue to save.

For some reasoning makes me think of Jonty. I am confident he could keep it together until he had a chance to stagger from the room! He just better not look at Orlando!

Also 'I wasn't expecting a sausage' is absolutely the old Motto of some family or. organization, can't you just see it emblazoned on a shield?

Yes, yes! Oh, that would make a magnificent 'missing scene'!

Surely it has to be Mrs Stewart's motto?!

Maybe it's the motto of her charity for unfortunate girls?

Hysterical! Contrary to another commenter, I can see Mrs. S saying it front of the lads andJ & O nearly dying trying not to laugh.
