Thanks to the lovely men at the US embassy IRS dept, I have my ITIN number. Left Southampton 6.50, was in Starbucks drinking coffee, all done and dusted, at 9.45 and home by noon. Wrote six A4 pages of a new Cambridge Fellows book on the train.

Got back to find the finished Britflash cover and blurb in the inbox. [livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft has done a cracking job with the picture and [livejournal.com profile] clarelondon ditto with the words.

BRITISH FLASH

A revealing collection of short LGBT fiction, available free of charge from Smashreads
Enjoy this entertaining collection of flash fiction stories, and their short and sweet expression of what it means to be queer in Britain, past and present. All these stories reflect the iconic sights and national character of the British Isles: a taste of our idiosyncrasies and eccentricities, but also an unashamed representation of the love, loyalty and laughter of our people.

Follow the British way of life from historic villages to modern cities, from the countryside to the sea, through history and with a fantasy twist, in gardens, shops, campus and the familiar, much-loved local pub.

The stories cover universal themes of romance, desire, remembrance and reconciliation. The authors range from multi-published to up-and-coming, and they all share a passion for their characters, whether through great drama, erotic excitement, humour – or a combination of all three!

Contributors include:
Alex Beecroft, Victoria Blisse, Stevie Carroll, Charlie Cochrane, Sophia Deri-Bowen, Erastes, Lucy Felthouse, Elin Gregory, Mara Ismine, Sandra Lindsey, Clare London, JL Merrow, Josephine Myles, Zahra Owens, Jay Rookwood, Caroline Stephens, Stevie Woods, Lisa Worrall and Serena Yates.

This anthology is a souvenir of the 2011 UK Meet, an occasion for GLBTQ supporters to get together in a relaxed setting to celebrate and chat about the fiction community they love.

Does this mean you'll get a big ol' lump sum of the royalties your publishers will have had to withhold? That's gotta be nice!

I like this news! :D

I'm glad the news about another book pleases you. I need to knuckle down, finish book nine and submit the thing!

Very nice cover. There's something to be said about a good looking man in a kilt.

Oooh more Cambridge Fellows.

*nods* I was surprised in a recent Glee that people felt Kurt wearing a kilt was effeminate. It's seen here as a very masculine item.

That surprises me too. I always associate it as very masculine and I'd love to see someone suggest to some of my favourite characters who wear it that it's effeminate. Thinking of Jamie from Diana Gabaldon's series of novels in particular, and Jamie from Dr Who.

I am impressed and delighted by your productivity! I've just finished Lessons in Temptation and adored it :)

[livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft has done an excellent job with that cover. Not often you see the kilt juxtaposed with the Union flag. Very eye catching! Oh and anyone who suggests kilts are effeminate is heading for a doing ;)

So glad it amused.

Alex has been a star with the cover - the kilt's pattern has hints of the Union Flag, too, which I've only just noticed. I love a well turned leg in a kilt!
