Mea culpa. Thanks to a great book called "distionary of English Down the Ages" by Linda and Roger Flavell, I've discovered I have an anachronistic "blizzard" in "The Shade on a Fine Day". Not known in England in Regency times, the word is American, late 19th century as applied to weather.

I hang my head in shame.
